Mrs. Georgette Finney grew up in Trinity United Church of Christ. Jim Montgomery is a charter member of Trinity UCC so when Georgette and Leon wanted to purchase the Metropolitan Community Church for the new home of Apostolic, Georgette came to us and asked for financial help. We gave her and Leon $10,000, our love, our prayers and our fullest support. We asked for nothing from them in return but their best. Leon and Georgette did not let us down and we shall forever be grateful to God for their faithfulness.

I first met Red Finney in 1987 when we moved to Decatur and i went to work for Bolt Auto Body. Red was someone i was very proud to call my friend. Red was a stong willed person that wasnt afraid to say what he thought. It didnt matter what you were doing if Red was there he would allways jump in and help. Reds personality was very comical unless perhaps you were on the the bad end of it. It broke my heart when i found out that he lost all memory of things and was in a nursing home. I visted him the first time he seen me there for a split second he lit up and i know he knew who i was but it left just as quickly as it came. I allways enjoyed Reds stories. It usually ended with the same words. (and thats how its gonna be till the undertaker wipe my ass for the last time.) Red said the last several years he was gonna be like Bob Hope. Live to 100 years and then give it up. Red i am so sorry you did not make your goal but if i live to be 100, i will never forget you and all the times you made me smile.
