The best teacher I ever had! She brought food into the classroom for all of us all the time, different things to try that we might otherwise not have the chance to, squid, seaweed, etc. We would all walk to Krekels and the candy store often. She invited us all to her home for Christmas. I could go on forever about how that one year of being in her classroom affected me and I've never forgot her or the lessons learned in her class. Prayers go out to her family.

Her smile, her love of family, friends and life radiated from Linda everyday. My first job in Decatur in 1998 was working with her at SAFE School. Her passion for education was a part of her soul. My condolences to Linda's family and friends. I worked with Linda for a few years at DPS #61 – District Learning Resource Center or Woodrow as it was called then.Linda worked very hard at her job. She had a strong commitment to her work. She was definitely driven to work with each of the gifted children children at each of "her" 8 schools. She had "the fire" to take care of business or school in this case.Linda, wherever you are, keep the fire burning and work with the children who will benefit from your talent and teaching ability.Rest In Peace Linda.

Mrs. Hasenmyer was an outstanding teacher and I feel that it was a privilege to be one of her students. I remember that she gave every student a hug before we left everyday. What a treasure she was!
