I look upon meeting Max as me having a case of very good luck. He became the best friend that I have had in this lifetime. I admired his dedication and love for his and Carolyn’s children, Jane and Jay. He was so proud of Jane’s becoming a speech pathologist and for her becoming so successful and talented in her career. He was so glad that Jay enabled him to be a “grandpa”. He also was so proud and happy to know that Jay got the opportunity to start a career in criminal science; he knew that was something that Jay had wanted to do very early on. He reveled in the joy of becoming a grandfather and looked forward to every call, facetime, and visit with them. I remember Max saying several years ago that he felt so fortunate for all the travelling he had experienced and how those experiences were something he never would have expected to happen to him when he thought back to how he viewed the world when he was growing up on the family farm. I fondly remember finding many, many concerts that I would get tickets for and Max would be game to going along even though he might have barely even heard of some of the artists. Recollections of those experiences are many and make me happy sorting through those memories. Max had a great laugh. Max had a great heart. Max was and is a dear friend to me.
So thankful to meet Max and share time with you. It was a privilege to care for him. Our hearts and prayers will continue to be with you and your family. God bless and comfort you all.
May memories of shared happy times comfort you today and the days ahead. We are so sorry for your loss.
Sorry Max died! I only saw him at Applebee’s. Take care.
