Cheryl Stoddard
Mellody was one of the most unassuming people I know. She was willing to serve in any capacity but always indicated that she wasn't sure she was the one for the task. She was a great example to me when we first joined the Church because of her humility and patience as she endured physical trial after physical trial. If she asked me to help with children while she recovered from one of her many hospitalizations, she'd always try to help me in some way afterward.
Mellody and Jim were shining examples of a loving couple who would sacrifice anything for the other.
I loved the time we spent together and felt honored when asked to help when Shawna was injured.
Mellody endured many trials during her life, was strong through each of them, and now finally can join her sweet husband and daughter on the other side of the veil.
I'm so glad to have been her friend.
Our sympathy to all the family. We really wish we could be with you in person today to honor her memory and give hugs to each of you.
