Patricia Jane Buckley's Obituary
Patricia Jane Buckley, 82, of Decatur, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Pat was born December 20, 1940, daughter of Homer Earl and Golie (Cole) Starbody. She retired from Federal Kemper Insurance after 35 years of service as a Main Frame Systems Software Tech. Pat was a long-time member of Antioch Christian Church and most recently attended First General Baptist and was a member of the Fun Time Cruisers Car Club.
Pat married Jack L. Buckley June 27, 1959. They celebrated 54 years together; he preceded her in death on July 20, 2013. Pat and Jack loved to travel and camp (belonged to the Stay Rolling Camping Club); do ceramics, setting up at craft shows; going to Senior Saints in the Smokies and working tirelessly for the Lord. Pat was a big supporter of missions to spread the gospel throughout the world. She also attended any church activity that was held.
She was reunited with her husband, parents and sister, Gloria Starbody, who passed away last month. She leaves behind a special cousin, Mark Overlin, special friends Joe and Becky Luka and family, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Vivian Marie Best, brothers-in-law Walter Buckley and Jerry Buckley.
Services for Pat will be Monday, January 30, at 1:00 PM at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service.
Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park.
