My family lived down the street on Summit Avenue from her. My best friend at the time lived behind them and so we spent a lot of time in the backyards, trick-or-treating,and jumping in the leaves. Pat and I became closer friends when I moved back into the house I grew up in and began exchanging in our mailboxes her southern living magazine for my better homes and garden. We spent a lot of time talking in the driveways and on her porch. Later in the last two years, we reconnected and spent a lot of time talking over Del‘s Popcorn. Her door was never closed to me always there to listen or share. She was so devoted to her family, followed by our country, common sense, hard work, laughter, and showing up for people she cares for. She has been a golden thread in my life and my family’s . Her southern ways of sass and style with Flo blue will always be a good memory But her laugh most of all.
