Patricia Jane Michaels' Obituary
Patricia Jane Michaels, 71, of Decatur, IL died May 2, 2018 at her residence.
Patricia was born August 22, 1946 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Raymond A. and Fraudonna (High) Kaler, Sr. She married Arthur Michaels on June 26, 1970 in Decatur, IL at her parent’s home.
Patricia was a receptionist for Adolph Meyer. She was also a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Patricia had served her community as a Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader. She also devoted much of her time serving her church as a Sunday School teacher. Patricia loved her son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur; son, Arthur Andrew Michaels, Jr.; siblings, Penny Smeltzer (Robert) of Decatur, Karen Beard (Rod) of Decatur, Raymond A. Kaler, Jr. Of Decatur; two grandchildren Eden and Sabine and her loving pet dog Co-Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Paula Rae.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date at Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the March of Dimes or the American Cancer Society.
Patricia was stricken with polio when she was three years old and her chair became her legs. She never let this stop her from leading an awesome life. She touched so many around her and was loved by everyone. Fly with the angels Pat.
