Paul Roger Jones, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away, October 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Paul was born June 20, 1934 in Assumption, IL, the son of Ralph Thomas and Bernice (Nein) Jones. He married Barbara May Lambdin, June 20, Read Obituary
Paul and I grew up on farms about a mile apart.
I recall going over to Paul’s house and his Dad would take us up in his airplane! Also enjoyed several trips to Minnesota to fish for walleye at their family fishing camp.
Paul and I shared a room together my Fresman year at Millikin University. Our dorm room on campus was a WW II soldiers barracks. You really get to know someone when you share a 10 by 12 foot room for a year. I joined Paul’s fraternity at Millikin, Delta Sigma Phi. It was a great experience and a good source of food for four years.
Paul was a great friend and Brother in Christ.

i remember Paul and Barbara presenting a program at Moweaqua Christian Church after they returned from a mission trip to an Indian Reservation in Arizona, I think. i have always had a special interest in missions and I believe that is what planted the seed. I really admired both of them.
