Pearl V. Cassidy, 73, of Decatur, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, in her home. Pearl was born February 25, 1939 in Decatur, daughter of Richard G. and Carrie L. (Mainer) Lyons. She was the first female hired at the Macon County Sherif Read Obituary
It was an honor and pleasure to know Skip when I was an officer and later as a sergeant with the Decatur Police Dept. My prayers are with her family at this time.
It was an honor and certainly a pleasure to have known and worked with "Skip" when she was a Dispatcher and later when I hired her as a Deputy Sheriff. She gave real meaning to title Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?Å?Public ServantÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢ because she was truly a law enforcement professional along with being a very compassionate person. My prayers to your family. Skip was a great person and an outstanding Deputy. I Dispatched at the Sheriff's Department from '78 to '86. I never saw her back down one time.
