Pearl V. Cassidy's Obituary
Pearl V. Cassidy, 73, of Decatur, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, in her home. Pearl was born February 25, 1939 in Decatur, daughter of Richard G. and Carrie L. (Mainer) Lyons. She was the first female hired at the Macon County Sheriff Department and worked as a deputy sheriff until retiring in 1995. Pearl was a faithful contributor to the Police Benevolent Society and Fraternal Order of Police. She is survived by her daughter, Lena (Lynn) Terry of Decatur; sons: Robert (Rose) Cassidy of Moberly, MO, and Guy (Stephanie) Cassidy of Moweaqua; grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew, Amanda, Joanna, and Emily; brother, Robert (Becky) Emmons of CA; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10 a.m.; visitation begins at 9 a.m. Burial with 'Flight Home' ceremony will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and five sisters.
