Dear Weezie, Moe, Dan and all the Wilcox Family,Growing up next door to you guys…I have nothing but fond memories of Skip. He was a thoughful, considerate, warm-hearted man. And what a great sense of humor. He loved a good laugh and always had funny stories from the characters around the neighborhood. And if he couldn't find one there, he drew from his long list of political pals.He dedicated himself to caring for Matt after his accident and was so loving and kind, yet strong in adversity. One of the greatest cardinal fans who ever lived. I'm sure he is pleased to see the cubbies doing well this year. He loved his dogs…I only remember the old ones, Sonny and Patches, but I'm sure there were successors.I have never forgotten Skip's buying for me all the first day-cover commemorative stamps while I was in the Navy. He was a good friend to my parents. And a patriot–not an idealogue, but a man who cared about his community from the grass-roots up, serving as precinct committeeman and working to revitalize the neighborhood. He and Weezie took my shut-in mother to church, And brought her his toasted pecans all those many Christmas's.Thank you Skip for all those fond memories.
