Dear Betty,I have learned of Ray's sudden death through Jean Dennison, and want to add my condolences to you as well as my prayers for you and your family. It has been many years since we have spoken, but those long ago years of friendship through the JOY class at FBC are not forgotten. May the Lord comfort you in your grief. Paulette Brock
Dear Betty and Betsy,I was shocked to see Ray in the obits! I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope he didn't suffer long. Although such loss is painful for those left behind, we have a sure hope for eternal life and peace in Jesus Christ, in the presence of Whom Ray now rests. You will see him again. Love to you, Donna.
I won't say what Ray "was" because all that was taken from him was the bad parts. Ray is an awesome friend and a brother whom our Dad called to move home. Nowadays he's more like Jesus than he was in life, and he is with our Dad and our big brother who went before him. A lot of the time when someone close moves away, there's the expectation of talking to them again. We say we'll write, etc, or sometimes there are visits. The good thing about knowing where Ray went is that we know we're going to have a lot of time with him yet. What we had before he moved in with Dad is a brief moment. We'll get a lot longer than that with him as we live eternity basking in God's glory.
How do you sum up a man so full of life and works done for the Lord in a few words? You can't. Ray was much more than a friend to my wife and me he was like a second father. He always was ready to share his wisdom and experience with us when we had struggles. Ray continually reached out to help anyone in need and was my inspiration for doing the same. We will miss the way he had of telling you he loved you… God loves you Ray and so do we.With much joy and sadness,Kevin and Ruth Basile

Betty and family,I am so sorry for your loss, but I believe that Ray is rejoicing in being with the Father! We all have fond memories of Ray and your working in the church, helping, donating and supporting the many different areas. Ray's love of people knew no boundries. We are all best to have had him in our lives! My prayer are with you and the family making it through these though times, rest in His love…our love to you,James and Joetta Shaver
Praying for you and thinking about you in your time of loss. Love to you all.
I was blessed to know Ray and be a friend. I will remember Ray as being a blessing to so many by the work he did. Visiting the sick and elderly patients in the hospitals and nursing homes, delivering cookies to first time visitors, helping in any way he could at church. Always smiling with positive thoughts and greeting everyone with a hug. I am sure when he entered Heaven he was told: 'Well done, good and faithful servant!' I have no doubt that Ray is walking the streets of gold.Praying God will fill Ray's family with the peace he would wish for you. My prayers and love are with you.Linda Cox
