CRIBBETT
DECATUR- Raymond J. Cribbett, 63 of Decatur, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Services to celebrate Ray's life will be held at 7 PM on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Heartland Community Church, conducted by Pastor Joe Bowman, Pastor Doug Rudow and Pastor Mark Tyus. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Ray was born on April 22, 1947 in Urbana, IL a son of George E. and Irene G.L. (Mathias) Cribbett. Ray received his Masters of Divinity Degree at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas. He was retired from the State of Illinois Child Support Services and worked with Macon Resources and the Census. He was licensed by the American Baptist Church of America and was Pastor of several Central Illinois Baptist Churches and performed several weddings for family and friends throughout the years. He was currently on the volunteer staff at Heartland Community Church. He knew the word of God. Ray married Betty L. Shaffer on November 19, 1967 at the American Lutheran Church in Rantoul.
Surviving are his wife Betty of over 43 years, children- Jamy Ray Cribbett and his wife Maria of PA., Elizabeth 'Betsy' Cribbett of Decatur and Joseph B.D. Cribbett of St. Charles, brothers- Dennis Cribbett of Rantoul, Richard Cribbett and his wife Cindy of Champaign and Randall Cribbett and his wife Sandy of Forrest, and two unofficially adopted grandchildren- Kaden Norman and Avereon Norman and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents and one brother- Thomas.
