Rebecca Ann Nalley's Obituary
Rebecca Ann Ashby Nalley peacefully left her earthly home and entered her heavenly one on Saturday, March 21, 2026. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Macon County Memorial Park.
Becky was born on August 13, 1952, to Frank and Adeline Ashby. She married her first husband, Douglas Dean Nalley, in 1969, and together they built a life centered on love and family. They were blessed with two sons, Timothy Paul Nalley (Monica) and Matthew Ryan Nalley (Kara). Becky’s greatest joy was her family, especially her seven grandchildren: Skyler (Taylor), Summer, Drake, Ashley, Alexis, Jo, and Makayla, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Later in life, Becky found love again and married Rodney Asbury on November 3, 2019. Together they shared many happy moments, including simple joys like riding in the convertible—times Becky treasured deeply.
Becky is lovingly remembered by her husband, Rodney Asbury; her sisters, Debbie Ashby and Cindy Holliday; her brother, Dan Ashby (Tiffany); her stepdaughter, Stacey (Jeff); and a large extended family of cousins and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Nalley; her parents, Frank and Adeline Ashby; and her brother-in-law, Doc Holliday.
Becky dedicated many years of service to education. She began as a secretary at Garfield School and later at French Academy Magnet School, where she worked under Connie Ground. She completed her career at the Keil Building in the Special Education Department under Carl Hall. Her dedication and kindness were recognized when she was honored as Secretary of the Year—a reflection of the care and excellence she brought to everything she did.
More than any title or accomplishment, Becky cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She found her greatest happiness in time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also had a love for travel and music, and she embraced life’s simple pleasures with a joyful spirit.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Becky so faithfully over the years, especially her cardiologist, Dr. Kola, for more than 30 years, along with his nurse Sydney; her endocrinologist, Dr. Jeremiah; her kidney specialist, Dr. Qureshi; and their compassionate staff. Deep appreciation is also given to Gentiva Hospice, whose care and support brought comfort and peace during Becky’s final days, allowing her to be surrounded by family.
Becky’s faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She carried a deep and abiding love for her Savior, and it was her heartfelt hope that she would one day be reunited in heaven with all those she loved.
