Reynaldo Tapia III's Obituary
Reynaldo Tapia III, 36, of Morrisonville died Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Christian County.
Rey was born on August 19, 1975 in Antioch California the son of Reynaldo Tapia Jr. and Shirley (Benner) Tapia both of Decatur.
Rey moved to Decatur, IL in October of 1985 and finally settled in Morrisonville. He was a 1993 graduate of Warrensburg-Latham High School and was employed at Ahlstrom Filtration as a production supervisor.
He is survived by his two children, Christian Rey Tapia and Lauren Kaylynn Tapia both of Morrisonville; both parents of Decatur; sisters, Ursula Mesnard and husband Jeff; Ann Rohman and husband Barry all of Decatur; brother, Christopher Tapia and wife Katrina of St. Joseph and his grandma, Theresa Benner of Decatur several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and a host of friends whom he thought the world of.
Rey was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and loved his two children dearly they were his world.
Rey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reynaldo and Frances Tapia both of California and grandpa Lyle Benner of Decatur.
Rey was a wonderful and caring person with a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Weltin as Celebrant. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:30 pm. There will also be a visitation from 10 ' 11 am Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials are suggested to the children's education fund at Land of Lincoln Credit Union.
