to Pete"s family, pete was a very good friend of mine. he taught me many things about eletronics at cat. he introduced me to gulf and i was his partner for six years.i have only shed tears for a couple of men in my own family before, but i shed alot for my good friend Pete. i was out of town with my wife and son and his family when Pete had his service and i'm sorry we couldn't be there.Pete always bragged up his grandchildren and loved all of you deeply. with all are love we hope God easies your pain. from Nick and Cheryl Larry
My husband and I were so saddened to hear of Pete's death. We lived down the road (1772 Hunt Ct) from Pete for ~ 7 years. We just moved to Peoria in May, and he helped check in on the house until it sold. He was the best neighbor; always willing to help. Pete was really someone you could count on for whatever you needed. My husband and I liked to call him the dog whisperer because he could make our dogs behave like no other! The world lost one of the greats the day he passed. Please accept our condolences and happy memories of a truly great man.
Being that my brother was 18 yrs older than myself, I was raised with my 3 loving nephews. Pete always made me proud of him for being such a good father and to all his family and friends. After Pete retired and had his children raised, he lived his life to the fullest. He loved singing, golf and just making people happy. From the start of his illness to his passing, when you asked him how he was doing his answer was always the same, "Don't worry about me, I'm just fine." I loved him dearly and will always fill him near me.
PETE,I ALWAYS FELT LIKE WE HAD A BOND,WE SHARED THE MOST PRECIOUS OF ALL, OUR GRANDCHILDREN. ONLY YOU COULD'VE KNOWN HOW WONDERFUL THEY ARE. YOU WERE THE MOST WONDERFUL GRANDPA TO THEM AND THEY ALL ADORED YOU. EVEN THE OTHER KIDS ALL LOVED YOU TOO.ZAK,TJ,KENZIE & THE REST THEY ALL LOVED YOU. YOU HAVE THREE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS & I KNOW YOU'LL STILL BE WATCHING OVER THEM FROM ABOVE. NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE YOUR PLACE, YOU WILL SO MISSED BY EVERYONE. I PROMISE YOU I WILL DO MY BEST TO BE THERE FOR AMY,GREG,& THE GRANDKIDS. WE ALL LOVED YOU PETE & I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DAY WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN,IN HEAVEN.LOVE SHERRI,RICK, & ZAK JONES
We are on vacation and cannot attend services. We were sad to hear about Pete's passing. We both attended school with him and have a lot of fond memories. Please know that we are thinking of the family at this time. Please accept our condolences.
Pete had a spirit about him that is rare in anyone. He was full of fun, hard working, did not know the meaning of sitting still. He truly loved his family and was so proud of each of them. He was very giving and so much fun to be with. He loved to sing and be happy, he will be in our hearts forever and missed always.
Condolences need to go to the imediate family to be sure! For you all, Girls, brothers, and especially grandchildren, but to extended family and literally everyone who knew Pete too. That is the kind of affect he had on anyone who knew him. With Pete, I must note his generosity and lack of selfishness. He was arguably one of most talented small town athletes to come out of Illinois sports in the sixties. But did you ever get that feeling from him…even then? No! My thoughts of Pete will be the many many times of laughter: Throwing the pickle in the back of a truck coming home from the state fair…on a dare, cob fights behind the big house in Assumption, walking uptown to the movies together in the summer, and many more! Say hi to our family's sweetheart, Pete, and your mentor…Grandma Jackson. miss you Pete!
