HORSE, Robert Maurice “Bobby”
Bob passed away peacefully in Decatur, Illinois on November 3, 2017after a courageous 7 year battle with cancer at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his loving family friends who had cared for him throughout his illness. Bobby was the first son of Robert and Mardra Horse. He was born and raised in Chadron, NE and later moved to Decatur, IL where he has lived for the past 30 years. He was well known for his creative talents with jewelry and could just about build or repair anything. All throughout his life he was a gifted musician and played drums in various local bands, primarily the family band The Esquires. Bobby was a very generous man and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son Crae Horse; mother Mardra Horse(Williams); brothers Tommy and Brad Horse and Sister Virginia (Dennis) Salisbury and many cousins, nieces and nephews
Bobs family in Decatur include his Partner Brenda Templar; step-children Araina , Aja, Avia, Alisha, and Ariel Templar and their spouses Jacob Galyen, Matt Mechtley, and Robert Hester; step – grandchildren Adriana , Aric, Alexia, and Alexandria (Phelps and her Husband Michael Standridge , Jacobe,and Ashlynn Phelps , A’don Templar, Antonio Hill Jr., and Tegan Mechtley. Funeral services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 450 Bordeaux St., Chadron, NE 69337 at 10:00am on Friday November 24th, 2017; Burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery; In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Grace Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
