Bob's passing leaves an unfillable gap in my life, but more important 63 years of memories of true friendship. Bob had my back without my asking or even expecting it. Bob was a stoic, uncomplaining guy who loved work, even hard work. He had an adventurous streak evidenced by long canoeing and ice fishing trips. At the beginning of one canoeing trip he stepped across the Mississippi River (at its head-water). Shortly after the Korean War, Bob drove a Pershing tank whose mission was to defend a bridge at the North Korean border to allow allied troops and refugees to cross into South Korea. So long buddy, let's have breakfast in heaven.
