Robert Joseph Moore's Obituary
Robert Joseph Moore, 77, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020, after his resilient battle with cancer, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.
Robert was born January 15, 1943, in Van Nuys, California to Roy Jefferson and Katherine (Bosley) Moore. He married Delores “Dolly” Ann Kowaleski on June 24, 1966 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Robert retired from Tate & Lyle Mfg. Company as a director of Risk Management and Global Safety. Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. All who knew him, admired the passion he had for his family. Bob was a lover of all animals and enjoyed spending time with his cats, dog Missy, and beloved horse Jake. He had a love for the outdoors and looked forward to hunting with Scott and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, golf, painting, and spending time with his wife.
Robert is survived by the love of his life of 54 years; wife, Dolly; two daughters, Michelle Moore and Karin (Scott Poland) Clark; two grandchildren, Ravin Moore and Alec Clark; his brother, Larry Moore; his sister, Linda (Rick) Bowyer; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister in laws.
Honoring Robert Moore’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. A service of remembrance for Robert will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
