Decatur-Robert M. Sunderland, 60, of Decatur passed away November 10, 2010 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Services to celebrate Robert’s life will be 10:00 a.m Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Funeral home. Interment with military honors and “Flight Home” ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Robert was born December 27, 1949 in Decatur, IL the son of Robert and Phyllis Ann (Bennett) Sunderland. Robert served his country proudly in the USMC . He married Nancy Harshbarger in December of 1976. Robert was a great husband, father, grandfather and especially loved to race go carts with his granddaughter.
Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife; son; Shane and wife Mary of Decatur, brother; Rex and wife Paula of Florida, and grandchildren; Brianne, Mason, Shyanne, and Gavin. sister; Kathy Sunderland Gibbens.
Robert was greeted in Heaven by his grandparent, parents, and his brother Bill.
