Ronnie had a hard life. He spent much of his earlier years running and searching for his place in this life. He told me that after he lost his legs, he had a great deal of time to sit and think about all that he had missed out on and how important a relationship with God is. He told me that he d like to get to know his sisters better, He asked if we could spend some time this summer fishing and if I would let him give me a ride in his boat. I said as soon as he was up to it that we could make it happen. The thought of him even being able to get in the boat sounded crazy, but if you knew Ronnie, he d make a way. He and Timmy made a hoist that attached to the boat trailer and he was on lake Decatur in April this year! Il never get that boat ride but I was able to spend time by his side the last couple of weeks. Ronnie told me that he was fortunate that he had time to pray and get close to God in his last days. We held hands with family and friends and Pastors and prayed often. Ronnie prayed and asked Jesus to receive him at the gates of heaven with his arms opened wide…and soon. He asked me to remind everyone to spend more time with each other.I believe Ronnie has found what he was searching for in the arms of Jesus and that is, love, acceptance, healing and peace. I also believe he is reunited with mom and Jimmy and is cheering us all on to keep the faith so we can see each other again.Trina
