A belated "Hey Guy",I well recall having spent our years at Lakeview Jr/Sr High School residing only two blocks from each other. I knew you as a resourceful teen-ager, acquiring a paper route to afford the opportunity to purchase the used Plymouth sedan, which I still recall, as well as the fact you were quite willing to share it for more than just your own transportation. I also recall the "high stakes" poker games at your house, with your fabulous Mom as the most gracious of hostesses. Given that after Lakeview graduation we followed completely different life pursuits we lost touch. However, in August 2010 while attending our 50th class reunion I am glad I took the opportunity to track you down at home one night. I was stunned after all those decades of separation by your instant recognition of my voice before you even saw me as I approached in the dark. I enjoyed our all too brief summer night's conversation on your front porch. You always were a quiet, straightforward, and dependable classmate and friend. Over the decades I have come to realize how valuable, and unfortunately sparse, such attributes in others can be in ones journey through life. I have absolutely no doubt you provided a steady and very valuable presence in the lives of many other people since our adventures together a half century ago.Be at peace now My Friend, after a life of responsible and productive contributions.Don [email protected]
