Ronald R. Mintler, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in his home.
Ronald was born February 21, 1942, in Decatur, IL to Robert and Mabel (Cressler) Mintler. He worked as a security officer for the Clinton Power Plant for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Chicago Bears fan. He married Claudia Timmons on December 15, 1976. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2015. They shared thirty-nine wonderful years together.
Ronald is survived by his son, Mark Mintler of Chicago, IL; daughter, Traci Chanyalew of Chicago; stepsons, Charley Overla of Decatur, Rick Overla of Decatur; stepdaughter, Wendy Overla of Decatur, Susan Cameron of Decatur; sister, Barbara (Jeff) Parker of Titusville, FL; granddaughters, Sayat , Sofia; sister-in-law, Sandy Larsen of Decatur; cousins, David Fyke, Linda Reedy, and his two faithful canine companions, Lucky and Penny.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Graveside services to celebrate Ronald’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church.
