Rosa Littke's Obituary
Rosa Littke, of Scituate, MA (formerly of Decatur, IL), passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, at 7:27 PM.
Rosa was born May 26, 1915 in Székelyudvarhely , Hungary, the daughter of Ferencz and Vilma (Szakazs) Pakot. Rosa immigrated to the United States with her family in 1949 and settled in Decatur, IL. Rosa graduated from Milliken University with a degree in teaching. She was a devoted wife and mother, an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a dedicated teacher in the Argenta Public School District. Rosa had a deep appreciation of nature and spent many enjoyable hours in her garden. She loved to sew, knit and played the violin and piano. She was also an active member of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer foundation. She married George Littke in 1941 in Budapest, Hungary. The late George Littke passed away August 30, 1976. Mr. and Mrs. Littke courageously gave up everything in order to live in freedom here in America.
Rosa leaves behind her two loving children, Edwin G. Littke and Marika L. Roth; grandchildren, Erich G. Roth, Jeffrey M. Roth, Christopher I. Roth, Michelle Littke, Stephen Littke, 4 great grandchildren, son-in-law Kenneth Roth, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Littke.
Predeceased also are her sisters, Sari and Marta.
Memorial service will be held on May 25th at 2 pm at First Trinitarian Congregational Church of Scituate, Mass., where Rosa had been a member. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Susan B. Rosa lived life fully, addressed challenges as they came, and embraced the little and big things with joy and gratitude. All who knew her and loved her miss her sweet smile, loving presence and generous spirit.
