Sara Ann Holmes' Obituary
Sara Ann Holmes, 70, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 11:46 P.M. on Tuesday (05-13-2025) at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Sara was born on March 21, 1955, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of James P. Holmes and Edna Rosemary (Rutherford) Holmes.
Sara was a member of Harristown Christian Church. She was a social worker at Decatur Manor. Sara loved sewing, baking, and was a firm believer that Chocolate was the fifth food group. She was a very kind and caring person who loved to help people. She will be missed by her family very much.
Sara is survived by her children: James Thorne of Decatur, IL; Meredith Kinney and husband Josh of Sturtevant, WI; and Lisabeth Thorne of Ottawa, IL; five grandchildren and one brother Phillip Tucker of Decatur, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Donald Tucker, and two sisters Nancy Gaither and Pat Schlosser.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday (05-19-2025) at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL.
