Shannon Michelle Sparr-Mell's Obituary
Shannon Michelle Sparr-Mell passed away Monday January 29, 2018 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky Ohio surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with breast cancer.
Shannon was born September 25, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Dannie and Trudy A. Sparr.
She is survived by her loving Daddy Dan Sparr. Her son Keenan Cornett, daughters Kasey (Ben) Helmick, Kamie Cornett and granddaughter Aaliyah Helmick, bonus son Joshua Mell, bonus daughters Casey Bruns and Mariah Mell. Siblings brother Daniel (Sandra) Sparr, bonus brother Aaron (Anita) Osborn, bonus sister Heather (Tom) Johnson. Paternal Grandma Myrtle Sparr, Maternal Grandma Emily (Robb) Snipes. Many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews & Nieces. Two of the most amazing ladies a woman could have by her entire adult life Martha Gulley and Lisa Farris. A loving mother-in-law Linda Mell, sister-in-law Theresa (Marc) Chapman and her estranged husband Barry Mell.
She was preceded in death by her loving mom Trudy Sparr, bonus mom Linda Sparr, paternal grandpa Alvie Sparr, maternal grandpa’s Glenn A. Robb Sr., Worthan “Joe” Snipes, paternal uncle Orvil Benton, aunt Vonna Dunham, maternal uncles Charles Robb, Kenneth Robb and Glenn A. Robb, Jr.
Services to celebrate Shannon’s life will be Friday February 9th at Graceland Fairlawn funeral home, 2091 N. Oakland Avenue Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation starting at 10am, followed by the service at 11am. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. A reception will be held at West Decatur Church of God, 4500 W Main St, Decatur, IL 62522, for friends and friends to visit and share memories of Shannon.
