The light in the world just got dimmer. My aunt Sharon passed away this week.
It’s hard to imagine she’s not here.
Sharon never realized, I don’t think, just how many lives she touched.
Let me tell you about her.
#1 No grass ever grew under her feet. She was a ball of fire. She just made things happen. She didn’t know the phrase “I don’t know how to do that “. If she hadn’t done something before, she would just go get a book and learn on the go.
I learned early not to say you were gonna do something just contemplating. We would be having a cocktail in our favorite watering hole and I might mention that I was gonna paint my kitchen. 8:00 am the next morning I would hear honking in front of my house and there would be Sharon saying
“Let’s go”
“Go?” “Go where?”
“We have to go get the paint for your kitchen “
Gulp and groan
“Now? Today?”
“If not now when? Come on let’s get er done!”
That was Sharon.
She was kind, compassionate, generous to a fault and she didn’t judge
She was also strong-willed, stubborn and determined.
Not much made her mad but she hated to see people make stupid choices. The thing is though she would be mad at the vices, not the person. But boy when that little red head got mad, sparks would fly from her!
Sharon was married to Bob Allen whom she loved very much. I didn’t know him personally but I think I would have liked him a lot too. Another go-getter!
When he died, she married my Uncle Chuck Nance They had some fun times together and when he got sick she stayed with him to his last breath.
The one real love and joy in her life was her and Bobs son Robert Allen known affectionately as Bobby by those of us who love him.
Her main goal in life was to give him a happy childhood and the opportunity to pursue his dreams and passions I think Bobby would agree that he was very lucky to have had Sharon as his mother.
I think all of us who were in her world were
lucky to have known and been loved by her.
She made another goal to make sure our lives had fun and laughter in them. She always had the best toys (speed boats, motorcycles, permanent campground on an island), and she loved to share with everyone. Her generosity, kindness, and compassion knew no bounds.
She was a bright light of goodness and the world just got a little darker when she left.
You will ALWAYS be in our hearts
And Bobby we will all be together again if you will only believe
Goodbye for now Dear Aunt Sharon
All my love
Tami
