There is one special memory I cherish…A coat that I loved so much.. I was about 11 yrs. mom & dad bought it for me . It was beautiful!! Animal print..leopard. It was warm and fashionable..I can still envision mom and I picking it out of the stores racks. Such a wonderful feeling ..to have something so beautiful that I wanted so much..I know now what a sacrifice that took place. That day. Thanks mom and dad!! Love ?? Judy

My condolences to you on the loss of your mother. I am David Morrow of Decatur and am currently the drummer with Rock Of Ages. Back in the early eighties I played with Steven Walters (a fraternity brother from Millikin) frequently at the Ambassador. One night I had the extreme pleasure of working with Shirley who was an outstanding vocalist. After all of these years a cassette tape surfaced of the performance and a friend of mine cleaned it up and made a CD of it. It has Shirley, Steve Walters, Lee Parsons (bass) and me. Jeff, Mike and all the Canellas Girls,I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Seems like I have known the Canellas kids my whole life and I can only imagine how you are feeling right now. My heart is aching for all of you. My parents grew up with your parents and I grew up with all of you. My mom was great friends with Shirley and your Aunt Gloria. I am remembering your mom & dad as this fun, vibrant couple â?¦your mom with that great smile & vibrant red hair and Mike was so handsome! Itâ??s been a while since I have seen any of you but I hope you are all doing well. So happy to read about all the grandchildren & great grandchildren! Mike & Shirley must be so proud of all of you!
