Steven O. Davis' Obituary
Steven O. Davis, 65, of Buffalo formally of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Steven was born November 5, 1949 in, Decatur, IL., the son of H. K. and Phyllis (Gilliland) Davis . He was previously employed with AT&T for over thirty years. He was a member of Illinois Live Steamers. He enjoyed caring for his cat family, Illini sports, trains, and most of all, building miniature live steam engine trains in Dawson with his brother Gene “Kenneth”. He married his soul mate, Shelby Pearson on May 15, 1984 in Hannibal, MO.
He leaves behind his wife, Shelby Davis of Buffalo; father, H.K. Davis of Moweaqua, IL; son, Michael (Tedra) Davis of Urbana, IL; daughter, Lori (David) Lyons of Decatur, IL; stepsons, Michael (Marie) O’Brien of Mt. Auburn, IL., Troy O’Brien of Denver, CO; stepdaughter, Crystal McClure of Springfield, IL; brother, Kenneth E. (Karen) Davis of Decatur, IL; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his cat family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Davis.
Services to celebrate Steven’s life will be 4:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with the “Flight Home” ceremony to conclude the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
