Viola P. Fuqua's Obituary
Decatur – Viola P. Fuqua, 93, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021.
Viola was born September 12, 1927, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles C. and Goldie Belle (Sapp) Cassidy. She was an officer/minister in The Salvation Army for many years. Viola married Paul Fuqua on July 27, 1946 in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2014.
Surviving are her children, David Fuqua of Duluth, MN, Michael C. (Kristine) Fuqua of Clearwater, FL, and daughter, Heidi Fuqua of Ft. Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; sister Barbara (Cassidy) Gordon.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Catherine, and brothers Charles and Robert Cassidy.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 10 am until the service time of 11 am, at The Salvation Army, 229 W. Main St., Decatur, IL 62523. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
