Wayne M. Hinrichs' Obituary
Decatur-Wayne M. Hinrichs, 59, of Decatur, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Services to celebrate Wayne's life will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Ruppert officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Homeward Bound. Wayne was born June 24, 1950 in Vandalia, the son of Herbert and Roberta (Moeller) Hinrichs. He was employed at Illinois Power retiring after thirty-five years of service. Wayne was a member of the IBEW Local #1306 and enjoyed bowling, auto racing, and all sports. He married Heidi Stone in 2001.
He leaves behind his wife Heidi, daughter Kristi Muhammad of Decatur, brother Herbert 'Dennis' Hinrichs and wife Sue of Decatur, niece Alissa Henkel and husband Christopher of Decatur, two great-nieces, special cousins Karen and John Lipsey of Vandalia, and special friend Bob Northway.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Esparaz, Dr. Yoon, and the radiation staff at the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and Dr. Sobol for all of their loving care.
